SAVE TIBET! With a Panda Bear!
From our Museum, to “Emmen goes Eco” upcoming Festival!*
|
|
The Giant Panda is so endangered that the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) chose to use a picture of the animal as its logo. Although the Panda’s historical habitat, range falls mostly in Tibet, the Chinese government calls the Giant Panda one of China’s national treasures, and has used the Panda as the focus of several of its major publicity campaigns. Tashi Norbu is creating another outdoor sculpture. This will be a Giant Panda Bear, made out of plastic waste to bring awareness about Tibet’s environment and global ecology too!
Attention recyclers: We collect plastic for an art project!
During the next Emmen goes Eco in April 2020, Tibetan artist Tashi Norbu will be creating a panda bear of 2.5 meters high from plastic waste thus drawing attention to the global plastic waste problem.
Will you help us?
The collection campaign will start on 20th November*.
Preferably with the following properties:
- Hard plastic
- At least 6 square cm big
- Black or white only, (at least dark or light shades)
You can drop off your plastic items, at the Museum of Contemporary Tibetan Art in the Rensenpark/Emmen. When you get free access to the museum. Opening Museum hours: Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00 pm.
On an earlier edition of Emmen Goes Eco, Tashi Norbu made the Buddha of demolition wood below, which was installed in front of the pond, opposite our Museum in the Rensenpark.-
*The above has been postponed, owing to the government measures, and closure of the Museum, until further notice.
We shall keep you updated.
